Busy as a bee-eater
They are vocal! They are fast - they have to be to catch their insect-lunch in flight. And no they do not only eat bees, they eat any insect. In French they are called wasp-eater. They live in colonies and families, where the older siblings look after the young ones. Partnered birds often stay very close to each other. The male will often feed the female. They migrate to South of France to breed. You have to keep your concentration to catch them on "film".
